A premier fund-raising event for The Children’s Inn at NIH (Bethesda, MD) is scheduled for the month of April 2014 and will include live entertainment from Tony and Grammy Award-winning Jennifer Holliday, as well as dinner, and an auction.
Being the world’s foremost biomedical research facility, the Inn has provided treatment to more than 11,500 children and their families over the past 23 years for cancer, heart, lung, blood, bone and growth disorders, mental illnesses, and HIV infection. This year’s event will help provide necessary funding for the institute which continues to assist the pediatric patients 24 hours a day.
As part of this year’s fund-raising efforts, the auction list will include numerous items. We have provided a short list: a Hilton Head Beach vacation, an Apple iPad2, a Greenbrier Golf weekend for eight guests, an Amazon Kindle Paperwhite, two tickets to the David Letterman Show, a week-long Florida group getaway, and an original painting by Floridian artist Jason Albert..
Albert’s painting (16 x 12 inches) is a collectible piece used in the critically acclaimed children’s book Seaper Powers: In Search of Bleu Jay’s Treasure written by U.S Billboard Top 40 recording artist and author, Kim Cameron.
The Seaper Powers book was ranked one of the top children’s books for 2012, receiving 10 out of 10 stars from book reviewers, including: ‘Bout Books, Good Reads, Top of the Heap, and Everyday Life Book Review.
The gala takes place on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the Ritz-Carlton Tysons Corner located at 1700 Tysons Blvd, McLean, VA.
